Bright red cherry and rose petal aromas, herbs, and a touch of mineral earth. Medium-bodied, with lively acidity, silky tannins, and balanced ripe fruit and savory notes. The lingering finish is fresh, making it approachable now, yet structured enough for short-term aging.

100% organically grown Sangiovese from vines planted in 1985, 1997, and 1998 on clay and limestone soils. Seven hectares total. Highest elevation in the Montalcino zone of Tuscany. Hand-harvested, aged 4 months in 20-30 hL Slavonian oak botti, then 4 months in stainless steel before bottling.

The Ferretti vineyards sit at what feels like the top of the world, looking down at the rest of Tuscany from the highest point in the Montalcino zone. From this sunny perch, Matteo Perugino bottles dynamic Sangiovese that bursts with vibrant red fruit, dried herbs, and a crunchy reminder of the stone-littered vineyard soil.

The Ferretti family has grown Sangiovese in Montalcino for generations, selling fruit and bulk wine to other estates for bottling under their labels until the 2016 vintage, when Matteo, great-grandson of founder Ferruccio and a trained agronomist who studied in Siena, returned to the family farm and began bottling under the estate name.
