Aromas of peach, wet stone, white flowers, and citrus leaf, followed by a medium-bodied, satiny, and lively palate with persistent minerality and racy acidity driving its fleshy core of fruit.

While Chardonnay has traditionally held a prominent place in the Lorenzon family vineyard, their presence has grown even further with the acquisition (through inheritance and then purchase) of an additional 3 hectares in some of the finest terroirs of Montagny, an appellation dedicated to white wines, located slightly south of the Côte Chalonnaise. As a result, white wines now represent 60% of the Domaine's production.

The Truffières vineyard occupies a privileged position in the heart of the appellation's central slope, just west of the village of Montagny-Les-Buxy. It benefits from a very calcareous subsoil mixed with ferruginous clays that have purplish hues. It is predominantly southeast-facing.

The vines, which belong to his wife, were converted to organic farming by Bruno. Today, they are cultivated, on just under one hectare, like a true garden: regular soil work, very high pruning (to about 1.80 meters) to promote photosynthesis, meticulous control of leaf expansion and bunch aeration, and of course, the constant concern for harvesting on the precise day, when the balance is at its optimal point for each vintage, without ever seeking to deny its unique character. The health of the grapes, their concentration, and the sugar-acid balance are all the more important to Bruno because he has banned all oenological additives for over 20 years: no added yeast, no chaptalization, no acidification—here, only the grapes dictate!

This Premier Cru offers a complex and layered aromatic profile this year, beginning with a rather sweet, summery character, which, as it breathes, evolves towards a more ethereal, refined, and energetic dimension. The nose opens with caressing aromas of yellow flowers, pollen, broom honey, ripe wheat, and orchard fruits, including yellow peach, Golden Delicious apple, and Nashi pear. A note of lemon meringue pie and physalis adds to the wine's lusciousness. With prolonged aeration, the atmosphere becomes more invigorating, the wine gains freshness and vibrancy. One thinks of small white flowers, but also of fresh herbs such as verbena, lemongrass, lemon thyme, and savory. Orange and mandarin zest frame the aromas of a juicy pear. We love the balance between sunshine and vivacity.

This beautiful balance is echoed on the palate, where the wine, dense and sapid, is carried by a lovely lemony acidity and the imprint of the limestone soils, which lends dynamism to a structured, precise texture. A persistent wine with a lingering, savory finish, imbued with flavors of mirabelle plum, nectarine, and Reine-Claude plum, enhanced by a mouthwatering salinity. Its aging potential is evident: at least 10 years.

Ideal with shrimp tempura with coriander and Sichuan pepper, seared langoustines with a tarragon-infused shellfish jus, or grilled sole with a squeeze of lemon. Later, you could opt for rabbit simmered with sage and lemon. –

In the heart of Burgundy, amidst the rolling hills of Mercurey and Montagny, lies Domaine Bruno Lorenzon, a testament to meticulous winemaking and unwavering dedication to terroir. The domaine has flourished under Bruno's leadership, blossoming from 4.5 hectares to 10 hectares of prime vineyards. This journey of growth reflects not just ambition, but a deep-seated love for the land and its potential to produce exceptional wines.

Bruno embodies the spirit of the domaine; he meticulously cultivates his vines, subscribing to the philosophy that "great grapes are 90% of the work". This translates into a rigorous work ethic and a profound understanding of the land. Sustainability is at the core of their practices, with the domaine adhering to organic and biodynamic principles for over three decades. This commitment is evident in the consistently low yields, each grape bursting with concentrated flavors, a true reflection of the unique terroir. Innovation and tradition intertwine seamlessly in the vineyards. Bruno employs high-density planting to maximize sun exposure and promote vine health.
Tall vine training further optimizes photosynthesis, while light plowing and aeration ensure optimal soil conditions. The meticulous attention to detail extends to the harvest, with each grape hand-picked in small boxes to preserve their pristine quality.

The magic continues in the cellar, where Bruno's approach skillfully blends contemporary techniques with time-honored traditions. Whole-bunch pressing for Chardonnay extracts delicate flavors and textures, while partial stem inclusion for Pinot Noir adds complexity and structure. Meticulously selected oak barrels, crafted with Bruno's own discerning touch, impart subtle notes of wood that seamlessly integrate with the fruit. Aging in a combination of new and used oak barrels followed by stainless steel tanks allows the wines to mature gracefully, retaining their purity and elegance.

The result? Domaine Bruno Lorenzon produces wines that are truly captivating.
Pure and elegant, they possess a beautiful finesse that speaks volumes about the meticulous care and dedication poured into every step of the process. Each sip is an expression of the unique terroir, showcasing the subtle nuances of the Mercurey and Montagny appellations. The quality rivals that of some of the most renowned producers in Côte Chalonnaise, a testament to Bruno's unwavering passion and pursuit of excellence.

Domaine Bruno Lorenzon is more than just a winery; it's a story of dedication, innovation, and a deep respect for the land. It's a place where passion translates into exceptional wines, waiting to be discovered and savored by those who appreciate the true essence of Burgundy.
