Domaine Barmès-Buecher was founded in 1985 when Geneviève Buecher and François Barmès married and merged their two family holdings in Wettolsheim, both with roots in the village since the 17th century. The domaine converted to biodynamic farming in the late 1990s, achieving Demeter certification in 2001, among the earliest in Alsace. The 18-hectare estate includes three Grand Cru parcels: Hengst, Steingrubler, and Pfersigberg. The current generation, Sophie and Maxime Barmès, now manages the domaine alongside their parents.
