Nose tilts tropical with barely a whiff of typical grassy/green character. Palate is soft at first, confirming the nose, before building to excellent mineral finish carried on fresh acidity. Fascinating Sauvignon Blanc!

100% organic Sauvignon Blanc, sourced entirely from a single parcel, Champs Billard, on Kimmeridgian clay-marl soil. The parcel sits north of the Pouilly-Fumé appellation, at the meeting point of the Tracy-sur-Loire hamlets of Boisgibault, Maltaverne, and Boisfleury, about 2 kilometers from the Loire River. Average vine age across the domaine is 40 years; yields are capped around 50 hectoliters per hectare.

Farmed with Guyot Poussard pruning to preserve sap flow, shallow surface soil work, and mechanical control of cover crops. Fermented with native yeasts and put through full malolactic fermentation, with minimal intervention. Aged 12 months in stainless steel tanks on fine lees.

Domaine de la Croisée is an 8.55-hectare estate in Tracy-sur-Loire, in the Nièvre, purchased at the start of 2020 by Nolwenn Volant and Matthieu Maudry. Nolwenn, from Brittany, worked in publishing in Paris before meeting Matthieu, who had left a finance career to return to his family's roots in wine. The couple restored a small, long-neglected parcel of vines at the confluence of several Pouilly-Fumé terroirs. Matthieu oversees the vineyard and cellar; Nolwenn manages the estate's organization and hospitality. Eden is sourced from a single preserved parcel bordered by trees and crossed by a stream.
