Elegant and mineral-driven Gevrey‑Chambertin with dark berry fruit, spice, smoky-meaty complexity, fine tannins, and a long, structured finish — very refined, serious, and built for mid- to long-term cellaring.

Burghound says – Ripe and fresh aromas combine notes of red and dark raspberry, violet, the sauvage and a hint of newly turned earth. There is excellent richness and mid-palate density to the caressing yet powerful flavors that exude a subtle minerality on the firm, serious, and youthfully austere finale...should age gracefully. *Burghound Outstanding!*

Old-vine, biodynamically farmed Pinot Noir from clay-limestone soils with oyster fossils. Partially whole-cluster fermented, aged in mostly used oak, minimal sulfur — pure, mineral-driven Gevrey-Chambertin.

The Jean Trapet Père et Fils estate, established in 1919 in Gevrey-Chambertin, spans 15 hectares, comprising parcels from renowned appellations: Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambertin, Latricières-Chambertin, Chapelle-Chambertin, Petite-Chapelle, Clos-Prieur, and Marsannay. 13.5 hectares of Pinot Noir and 2.5 hectares of Chardonnay grow on this rich array of terroirs, collected by the family over the years and cultivated biodynamically since 1990.

Jean-Louis, son of Jean, now manages the estate, drawing on all the expertise he acquired from his father and enhancing it with his own personal style. He met an Alsatian winemaker, André Trapet, in Riquewihr and married her. Together, this passionate couple has since guided their Burgundy and Alsatian estates toward excellence, always working hand in hand. Domaine Trapet practices partial destemming and cold pre-fermentation maceration. Fermentation is long, and the wines are transferred to barrels by gravity. Harvesting, vinification, and aging exclude any use of sulfur. Jean-Louis Trapet allows only a minute dose at bottling. Succulent and well-rounded, the wines of Domaine Jean Trapet Père et Fils shine with panache among the great wines of Burgundy.
