Floral yet grounded – think red rose petals, raspberry, wild strawberry, and iron-rich earth. Medium-bodied with clean acidity, fine tannin, and notable salinity—structured but inviting.

With this fourth vintage of Langhe Nebbiolo, Alessandro Salvano continues to follow in the footsteps of his vintner grandparents. After graduating from Alba’s Scoula Enologica, he trained in estates across the Barolo and Barbaresco zones, including a three year stint at Borgogno. In 2019, he began making his own wine, sourced from his uncle’s vineyards to the east of Barolo’s Serralunga zone. With each vintage, he has gained valuable knowledge, experience, and wisdom. His current vintage is among the Langhe’s most unique expressions of Nebbiolo. He uses whole clusters of fruit, similar in style to Beaujolais. This softens Nebbiolo’s famous tannins and enhances its pretty notes of red cherry, raspberry, and clove.

Drink Wines, Not Labels, was born in Montelupo Albese, in the heart of the Langhe, 50 meters beyond the boundaries of the Barolo denomination. "In recent years I have often asked myself whether it still makes sense to imagine such defined borders for these territories," reflects Alessandro, "whether the geographical lines drawn over 40 years ago really determine the quality of a product in the contemporary context.”
