Arette 'Artesanal Suave Añejo' Tequila Jalisco
Arette 'Artesanal Suave Añejo' Tequila Jalisco
750ml
40% abv
Citrus, dried grass, & hints of dried tropical fruits, with almond, walnut, & vanilla. A long finish with pops of nutty black pepper. Elegant & complex.
100% Blue Weber Agave (Agave tequilana), estate-grown in the Tequila Valley, Jalisco.
Fermented in the distillery's original cement vats using a proprietary yeast strain. Double-distilled in pot stills. Controlled oxygen exposure post-distillation to soften alcohol before barrel entry. Aged 18 to 20 months in used American white oak ex-bourbon barrels, exceeding the 12-month añejo minimum. No additives.
The Artesanal Suave Añejo is the mid-tier expression in Arette's upper range, sitting above the Classica line and below the Gran Clase Extra Añejo. Where the Classica is built for mixing, the Artesanal Suave is designed for sipping neat, with a tighter distillation cut, longer barrel aging, and the controlled oxygenation process that gives the line its name. The extended 18 to 20 months in used bourbon wood contributes more oak character than is typical for an añejo, pushing the flavor profile toward vanilla and caramel without eliminating the agave backbone.
Destilería El Llano (NOM 1109) has been in continuous operation in the town of Tequila, Jalisco since the early 20th century, run by brothers Eduardo and Jaime Orendain, members of one of the oldest tequila-producing families in the region. The distillery holds UTIF spirits license number one in Jalisco.
