Clean, fresh, light red fruit, pronounced tannins – remarkable!

Winemaker Keti Berishvili own fruit provide the makings for this mindblowing Georgian rosé. The vineyards are located in the village of Artana, in the northwest of Kakheti, and this wine is made from 80% Rkatsiteli, which are matured on the skins of the black-colored Saperavi in qvevri, which makes up the remainder of the blend. The techniques that Keti uses are reminiscent of the new wave winemaking in the Auvergne, Ardèche, and Jura, but they apply these techniques in the context of one of the world's oldest wine traditions.

Winemaking has always been in Keti blood. She grew up making wine with her father Kakha, one of the founders of the natural wine movement and mentor to the generation of Kakhetian winemakers that came after him. He was working under the label Artanuli Gvino until the 2021 vintage when the two decided that the whole Berishvili family would just produce wine under Keti's label, GOGO (translates to ‘girl’ in Georgian). Born in 2015, GOGO is an homage to the importance of the role of women in what has been perceived of as a male dominated tradition in Georgia. Though the label is now a collaboration between the two generations of Berishvili's, GOGO is really Keti's baby with Kakha, who spends most of his time in the vineyards, acting as its loving grandfather.
