Steve and Jill Mathiasson are fantastic colleagues and inspirations to us. Their work promoting and advancing organic and regenerative viticulture and vineyard management provided something to strive for as we were starting out. It is a pleasure to work with them and the fruits of their labor to produce this profound and fresh old-school Chardonnay.

Soils: Deep and well-drained soils derived from sandstone and shale make up the Linda Vista Vineyard. Tucked towards the southern end of the Napa Valley, this area feels the cooling influence of the San Pablo Bay, which helps to produce world-class white wines with freshness and power.

Farming: Steve Mathaisson, a pioneer in organic and regenerative farming, tends the Linda Vista vineyard. Converting from conventional to organic, he is now practicing no-till techniques, working to build the soils and increase their vitality, which helps produce wines of incredible tension and verve.

Vinification: The grapes are pressed directly and allowed to settle overnight. The juice is allowed to ferment spontaneously in tank before it is racked into neutral barrels. There, it ages for 8 months sur lies before bottling (18 ppm SO2 added). The wine then ages an additional 18 months in bottle before release.

Tasting Notes: Incredible tension and acidity define this wine, clocking at only 12%, this is not your typical buttery Chardonnay. Loads of stone fruit and citrus are mounted on a crisp, fresh, yet dense palate for a wine that drinks well now, but will continue to age for years to come.
