Vineyards: Farmed by the Les Lunes team throughout Sonoma County, soils range from deep gravelly loam on the Chardonnay, decomposed volcanic deposits with the Syrah, and Bay mud sediment with the Pinot.
Winemaking: Hand harvested; fermented separately; Chardonnay underwent 6 day Carbonic Maceration; Pinot noir, destem 5 days on skin; Syrah, whole cluster ‘Reversee’ method; blended just prior to bottling with 10ppm SO2.
Tasting Notes: Styled in the mold of classic Beaujolais Nouveau, this light red is very fresh with light and crunchy tannins. Bright acid helps accentuate it’s mouthwatering fruit profile with just a hint of carbonic character to tie it all together. Perfect to enjoy with friends around your holiday tables.
Founded in 2014, the Les Lunes Wines are made from the vineyards that Diego and Shaunt lease throughout Sonoma and Napa. They founded their partnership while studying at UC Davis and working in France, Italy, and New Zealand with esteemed natural wine producers. Passionate about organic and regenerative farming and dedicated to preserving old-vine sites throughout Sonoma and Napa, the Les Lunes wines strive for pure and focused expressions of Northern California made through the lens of thoughtful, low-intervention winemaking.
‘New wines in the cellar are so fresh, fruity, and transient. Nouveau wines give consumers a peak into what we’re experiencing all through harvest!’ - Shaunt
‘Crunchy, fruity, crushable. This will easily distract you from your uncle’s hot takes during Thanksgiving dinner.’
- Diego
