Sparkling golden yellow. Beautiful citrus notes open on the nose and palate, followed by subtle herbs and carried , .; full, fresh body with a long mineral finish.

100% Sauvignon Blanc. Fruit sourced from east-facing slopes in Appiano Monte (450–600m) and Cornaiano (440–500m), Alto Adige DOC. Glacial morainic gravelly soils with high stone content (porphyry, granite, gneiss) in Cornaiano; clayey calcareous gravel soils at the foot of the Mendola massif in Appiano Monte. Guyot-trained vines up to 25 years old, 6,000–7,000 vines per hectare. Yield 45–50 hl/hectare. Hand-harvested mid-September. Farming certification not confirmed.

Fermentation in stainless steel using estate-selected yeasts, without malolactic fermentation. Aged on fine lees for 6 months in a combination of stainless steel and wood. Residual sugar 0.3 g/l; total acidity 6.2 g/l.

The wine's name references its two soil types directly: porphyry and associated volcanic rock in the lower Cornaiano vineyards, calcareous gravel at Appiano Monte beneath the Mendola massif. Sauvignon Blanc at these elevations in the Alto Adige sits in a register distinct from both the Loire and the New World, with cooler nights, volcanic and limestone tension, and an aromatic profile that runs toward elderflower and gooseberry rather than tropical fruit. The Niedrist family has farmed Cornaiano for over 30 years; Ignaz and Elisabeth are now joined by their children Maria, Franz, and Johannes at the estate.
