The 2024 Syrah comes from southwest hillside plantings at the Bassi Vineyard, 1.2 miles from the Pacific Ocean. The fruit was harvested in the middle of October and fermented with native yeast and with 100% whole cluster. The wine was pressed in our wooden basket press and then aged for 10 months in a combination of large format 500L barrels and 225L barrels.
Made with certified biodynamic grapes, indigenous yeast & bacteria, and minimal effective SO2.

The Bassi Vineyard is located 1.2 mies from Avila Beach, tucked up in the hillsides of Avila Valley, facing due south. The vineyard is planted in 2001 to 30 acres on the 120 acre ranch. The soils are composed of sandstone, ranging from rock outcropping to sand deposits, a reminder of the close proximity to the Pacific ocean. The Bassi Vineyard is owned by Mike Sinor, and farmed by Mike, Ben Taylor and Salvador Mendoza, using organic farming practices.
