Crisp and refreshing, with white flowers, Gala apple, and quince. Light to medium bodied, clean and balanced, with a medium-length finish. Clean, precise, approachable.
100% Riesling. Sourced from a selection of south-facing terraced vineyards in the Rohrendorf and Krems municipal areas. 1 g/l residual sugar, 4.5 g/l total acidity.
Calcareous conglomerate and weathered soils with loess. South-facing terraced sites in the Kremstal DAC zone around Rohrendorf, just north of Krems. Demeter-certified biodynamic farming.
Destemmed and crushed, pressed immediately. Spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel.
The Von den Terrassen Riesling is the estate's entry-level Kremstal Riesling, blended from multiple south-facing terraced parcels. It sits below the single-vineyard Ried Gebling (a 1.OTW classified site) in the range but is made with the same spontaneous fermentation approach and biodynamic farming philosophy.
The Vitikultur Moser estate traces its origins to Lenz Moser, one of the most influential figures in 20th-century Austrian viticulture, credited with developing the high-culture training system that transformed Austrian vine management. His son Sepp Moser began operating the estate under his own name in 1987, and in 2000 handed direction to Sepp's son Nikolaus (Niki) Moser, who renamed it Vitikultur Moser. Niki converted the estate to biodynamic viticulture in 2006, among the first in Austria to do so, and achieved Demeter certification shortly after. The estate now farms approximately 51 hectares across two geographically distinct regions: white wines from Rohrendorf in the Kremstal, and reds from Apetlon on the Neusiedlersee.
